About Indieformer

Indieformer exists for one reason: to help you search less and play more.

Hi, I’m Josh — I started Indieformer as a way to cut through the noise and spotlight games that deserve your time. It’s a curated space built from years of experience in film, TV, and creative work — and even more years spent navigating storefronts full of games that never quite clicked.

What began as a YouTube channel way back in 2014 has taken many forms — from deep-dive videos that took 30 hours a week, to long pauses and resets. But at the heart of it all was the same idea: discovery should feel exciting, not overwhelming.

So now, Indieformer runs as a newsletter — simple, sustainable, and consistent. Twice a month, I share highly curated picks from the indie game world, including full releases, Kickstarter gems, and early access titles. It’s not about hype. It’s about trust. I don’t play every game, but I only recommend the ones I’d genuinely consider buying myself.

If you’ve ever stared at your game library feeling stuck, or scrolled Steam until your eyes blurred, Indieformer is for you. A place to start, not end, your next great playthrough.

And this is just the beginning. Behind the scenes, I’m building Waypoint — an interactive archive and calendar of every game we’ve featured. Eventually, Indieformer will become your personal curation engine — tailored picks, better tools, and maybe even original games down the track.

Until then, I’ll keep doing what I’ve always done: finding the games worth knowing, and making sure you hear about them first.
