WAYPOINT

The Next Step in Indie Discovery

Indieformer has always been about one thing: helping you search less, play more. The newsletter has been our way to do that — a tightly curated wrap-up each month of the best games worth your attention.

But we’ve wanted something more. A way to keep all of those discoveries alive, not just in an email that gets buried in your inbox. Something that could grow into a living map of indie games — past, present, and future.

That’s what Waypoint is.

A curated calendar, filled with every game we’ve featured (and plenty more), where you can see what’s coming out week to week, or scroll back and find hidden gems you might’ve missed. It’s not just a list — it’s a visual way to track what’s happening across the indie scene, all in one place.

Right now, this first version is free and live. You can jump in today, explore the calendar, and send back your thoughts. It’s early, and it won’t be perfect — but your feedback is exactly what will shape where we go next.

Tip: Hit that paper & pencil icon in the bottom right to leave thoughts.

Earlier this week, we put Waypoint in front of a small group to give it a go. The feedback was great — it worked well, and we got a few suggestions we’re already working on. But it didn’t feel like it needed to sit in testing for long, so now it’s open for everyone.

So, what does this mean for the newsletter?

It won’t disappear — each issue will now highlight the new games added to Waypoint, giving you the same curated wrap-up with a new home base to explore further.

What’s in the pipeline?

This first version is just the beginning. Here’s what we’re working toward:

  • Future releases: filling out the calendar with what’s ahead, so you can see upcoming launches at a glance.

  • A full archive: adding years of past indie releases, so Waypoint becomes a true record of the scene.

  • Deeper tools: eventually linking to your Steam account, managing wishlists, adding filters, and surfacing recommendations tailored to you.

Waypoint is the first of many steps. Indieformer is moving into something larger — and there’s more news coming soon.
